While the investigation was pending, it appears that the accused by name Suseendran was arrested by the respondent police in connection with a similar offence in Crime No.208 of 2012 on the file of T-14, Mangadu Police Station, on 19.03.2012. According to the petitioner, she was called to the police station and informed that the accused has been caught and the properties have been recovered. The petitioner was under the bonafide belief that the lost Mangalasutra can be got back. Thereafter, there was no further communication from the police and when the petitioner contacted the respondent police, she was told that the accused Suseendran arrested in Crime No.208 of 2012 on the file of T-14, Mangadu Police Station, was not involved in Crime No.231 of 2012 on the file of T-13, Kundrathur Police Station. This version of the police did not go well with the petitioner and she firmly believes that Suseendran has involved in both the offences and after recovering the properties, involved in this case, the police have deliberately not accounted for.
