The petitioner has come up with the above writ petition seeking a direction to the respondents for the issue of a ration card.

Heard Mr.K.Srinivasan, learned counsel for the petitioner. Mrs.M.E. Rani Selvam, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents.

The petitioner applied to the first respondent as early as 21.2.2012 for the issue of a ration card. But, so far, nothing was forthcoming. Therefore, the petitioner sent a representation dated 19.8.2014 to the respondents with the same request. Since it did not evoke any response, the petitioner is before this Court.

Considering the limited nature of the prayer sought and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 19.8.2014 and

after conducting an enquiry, take appropriate action in accordance with law based on his application dated 21.2.2012, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
