This writ petition has been filed praying to direct the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 20/1/2011 and to permit the petitioner to attend interview for the post of Assistant Professor in Economics as per the advertisement No.4/2010 dated 29/3/2010.

The case of the petitioner is that he has completed M.A. (Economics) with University rank, M.Phil Degree and SLET examination conducted by Bharathidhasan University in the year 1999. He belongs to poor Backward Class Community. He had registered his name in the Employment Exchange and is waiting for his chance for any appointment. While so, in the year 2007, the Teachers' Recruitment Board has notified the vacancies for the post of Assistant Professor in Economics. published the recruitment of 39 posts of Assistant Professor in Economics and he has applied for the same. After receiving the letter from the first respondent, he attended the Certificate verification on 10/6/2010, but till date, he has not received the interview call letter. When he came to know that the list of persons called for the interview between 19/1/2011 and 5/2/2011, he made a representation to the respondents on 20/1/2011. Since there was no response, the petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition praying for the relief as stated therein.

Heard Mr.R.Nandakumar, counsel for the petitioner and Mr.R.Manoharan, Government Advocate for the respondents.

The learned Government Advocate on instruction submits that since the petitioner has not secured the required marks in the Certificate Verification, he has not been called for interview. However, he has not opposed to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20/1/2011 in the manner known to law.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case and also considering the fact that the petitioner has come out with a limited prayer for directing the respondents to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 20/1/2011 in respect of his claim for interview and without adverting into the merits of the case, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20/1/2011 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
