The petitioner is the holder of Arms Licence. The petitioner states that the Arms Licence has to be renewed for a period of five years. Section 15 of the Arms Act, 1959 prescribes the period of validity of the licence to be five years.

The writ petition is therefore disposed of modifying Ext.P2 order to the effect that Ext.P2 will be valid for a period of five years from its date.
