JUDGMENT

The petitioner was posted at the present station on 13.11.2020. While so, by Ext.P4, he is ordered to be transferred to a station further away from his domicile station. Claiming that he is due to retire on 31.05.2024, that he belongs to preferred category of Scheduled Caste and alleging rule violation, he has preferred Ext.P5 appeal which is now pending before the 2^nd respondent. The grievance of the petitioner is that the above appeal has not been disposed of and he is under the threat of being relieved from the present post.

Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Smt.A.G.Aneetha, the learned Standing Counsel for the KSEB, I am inclined to dispose of the writ petition itself by directing the 2^nd respondent to take up, consider and dispose on merits Ext.P5 appeal, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. The petitioner claims that a new vacancy is arising at Aroor. His claim may also be considered subject to the availability and the seniority. In the meanwhile, the status quo in relation to the petitioner's posting shall continue.
