The suo motu proceedings which was initiated on the basis of the TDB Report No.33 of 2013 submitted by the learned Ombudsman, is before us.

The report is based on a complaint received from a devotee of Thrippappoor Mahadeva Temple under the Travancore Devaswom Board. Mainly, it was a request to conduct repairs to the Temple structure. Additionally, the necessity of appointment of a Thali in the Temple has also been projected.

It is evident from the report that with regard to the affairs of the Temple structure, the Executive Engineer has submitted that though an estimated of `2,53,000/- was prepared, the Temple Advisory Committee was not willing to execute the work and the work has to be tendered. With regard to the necessity of one more Thali in the Temple, the Assistant Devaswom Commissioner has recommended restoration of the post of Thali, which was taken way. No final decision was taken by the Devaswom Commissioner.

We, therefore, dispose of the D.B.P with the following directions:-

(a) There will be direction to the Devaswom Commissioner to take a decision, with regard to the request of the Temple Advisory Committee, as recommended by the Assistant Devaswom Commissioner, for restoration of the post of Thali.

(b) The suggestion made by the learned Ombudsman for a rearrangement from other Temples where there is excess hand will be considered by the Devaswom Commissioner.

(d) We direct the Board also to see that the work is completed without much delay.
