JUDGMENT

The petitioner is a High School Assistant in Chemistry in the Maniyur Panchayat Higher Secondary School. The main prayer in the Writ Petition is for a direction to respondents 2 and 3 to grant equivalency certificate with respect to the M.Sc.degree possessed by the petitioner through Distance Education. Exhibit P3 is the certificate issued by the Annamalai University.

The learned Standing Counsel for the 3^rd respondent submitted that if the petitioner is making available the document showing the approval from the Distance Education Council, the 3^rd respondent is prepared to consider the application favourably. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the said document will be produced.

Therefore, on the petitioner furnishing the document showing the approval from the Distance Education Council as early as possible, the 3^rd respondent will consider the matter in terms of the relevant provisions and communicate the decision to the petitioner within a period of one month from the date of receipt of the document.

The Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of.
