appearing for the petitioner and Sri.K.S.Anil, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.
the Electrical Section, Ponnani. The petitioner's wife is an employee of the Cochin Corporation. He has, therefore, moved the second respondent in Exts.P2 and P3 representations seeking a transfer and posting to Mattancherry Electrical Division, where according to the petitioner about five vacancies of Cashier exist. In this writ petition, the petitioner inter alia prays for a direction to the second respondent to consider his request in Exts.P2 and P3 and pass orders thereon within a time limit to be fixed by this Court.

In the light of the submissions made at the Bar by the learned counsel on either side, I dispose of the Writ Petition with a direction to the second respondent to consider the request made by the petitioner in Exts.P2 and P3 representations and take a decision thereon, within one month from the date on which the petitioner produces a certified copy of this judgment. It is made clear that I have not expressed any opinion on the

merits of the claims put forward by the petitioner and that the second respondent will be free to arrive at independent decision
in the matter, having regard to the exigencies of service and administrative convenience.
