In this petition, the petitioner seeks the following reliefs:

“1. Issue a writ of certiorari after calling for records of the proceedings of the Respondent no.2 dated 14.01.2026 and after examining the same, quash the admission cancellation letter dated 14.01.2026 without bearing no.KSLU/Reg/Acad/AdmsnAppr/2025-26/-2245(4) at Annexure “A” in so far as it relates to the petitioner, issued by the Respondent No.2 to Respondent No.3 in the interest of justice and equity.

2. The Petitioner herein further prays that this Hon’ble Court may be pleased to pass any appropriate order or direction as the case may be in the facts and circumstances of the case in the interest of justice.”

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, learned AGA for respondent No.1 and learned counsel for respondent Nos.2 and 3 respectively and perused the material on record.

A perusal of the material on record will indicate that the petitioner is aggrieved by the impugned Admission Cancellation Letter at Annexure-A dated 14.01.2026 issued by respondent No.2KSLU to respondent No.3-College and for other reliefs. A perusal of the impugned Cancellation Letter dated 14.01.2026 will indicate that insofar as the petitioner is concerned with Admission No.23 i.e., Yashwanth S/o Ashok Kumar and Anusuyamma, who was admitted by respondent No.3 college on 08.07.2025, respondent No.2 – KSLU has rejected the approval in favour of the petitioner by placing reliance upon a letter dated 09.12.2025 said to have been addressed by respondent No.3 to respondent No.2-KSLU. In this context, on the last date of hearing date i.e., on 04.03.2026, this Court directed the learned counsel for the respondent No.2 to secure the aforesaid letter dated 09.12.2025 said to have been issued by respondent No.3 to respondent No.2 and accordingly,

college to respondent No.2-KSLU, respondent No.3 has stated that the petitioner and two other students had not submitted their original documents and as such, their admission was liable to be cancelled. The said statement made in the aforesaid letter dated 09.12.2025 is contrary to the admission granted in favour of the petitioner by respondent Nos.2 and 3, in particular, the endorsement made by the respondent No.3-College on the admission application form dated 08.07.2025 at Annexure-D, which clearly indicates that all marks cards and certificates had been verified and found correct and that the petitioner had not taken/received back the said documents after admission.

It is also relevant to state that subsequently respondent No.3-Collage had not intimated the petitioner nor called upon him to produce the said documents nor made any allegations that the petitioner had not submitted the documents at the time of the admission. Under these circumstances having regard to the undisputed fact that the very basis for not approving the admission of the petitioner and rejecting the same by respondent No.2University was by referring to the Communication dated 09.12.2025 addressed by respondent No.3-College to respondent No.2-KSLU,

which is factually incorrect, erroneous and contrary to the material on record, I am of the considered opinion that the impugned order at Annexure-A insofar it relates to the petitioner is concerned, deserves to be quashed and the present petition deserves to be allowed of by issuing certain directions.

(i) The petition is hereby allowed .

(ii) The impugned Admission Cancellation Letter dated 14.01.2026 at Annexure-A, issued by respondent No.2 to respondent No.3, insofar as it relates to rejecting the admission of the petitioner in Admission No.23 i.e., Yashwanth S/o Ashok Kumar and Anusuyamma, is hereby quashed.

(iii) Respondent Nos.2 and 3 are directed to to announce the results of the petitioner of the first semester examination, immediately, upon receipt of a copy of this order.
