The petitioner is an accused for the offence punishable under sections 304(B), 120-B/34 of the Indian Penal Code and under section 3/ 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.
The petitioner happens to be the father-in-law of the deceased.
Learned Sr. Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an old man aged more than 70 years and is in custody since 02.08.2017 and he is suffering from several ailments. He further submits that the charge sheet has been submitted in this case.
This is a case where the daughter-in-law of the petitioner was tortured and died an unnatural death in the matrimonial home.
Taking into consideration the period of custody and the fact that the charge sheet has already been submitted in this case and the fact that the petitioner is the father-in-law of the deceased and aged 70 years, I am inclined to release the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, the petitioner, namely, Ahmed Hussain is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned S.D.J.M., Ranchi, in connection with Doranda P.S. Case No. 145 of 2017, corresponding to G.R. No. 3645 of 2017.
