Contempt petition (Cont.Cas(C)/561/2022, Gauhati High Court, Arun Dev Choudhury, J., decided 06.02.2026) alleging non-compliance with the Court's order dated 23.03.2022 in WP(C) 2229/2021, whereby the Director of Elementary Education, Assam had been directed to bring to a logical end the recommendation of the District Scrutiny Committee, Dhubri in favour of the petitioner for provincialisation as tutor in language subject in Barabari ME Madrassa and to pass a reasoned order. At the hearing, counsel for the respondent produced a fresh speaking order dated 22.05.2023 whereby the Director once again rejected the petitioner's claim. Holding that the order dated 23.03.2022 stood complied with, the Court closed the contempt petition, directed furnishing of a copy of the speaking order dated 22.05.2023 to the petitioner's counsel, and expressly left the petitioner at liberty to assail that order if aggrieved.
