Heard Ms. R. Choudhury, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. K. Goswami, learned Additional Senior Government Advocate, Assam for the respondent Nos. 1 to 4.

Petitioner’s mother, namely, Kalyani Bhattacharjee on 24.10.2016 lodged an FIR before the Officer-in-Charge, Digboi Police Station, Digboi regarding forging of her signature by the accused persons named in the said FIR. The said FIR was accordingly registered as Digboi P.S. Case No.176/2016 under Sections 408/406/468/34 IPC alleging that the concerned police official did not proceed with the investigation of said Digboi P.S. Case No.176/2016. Hence, the petitioner has preferred this writ petition for a direction to the respondents to complete the investigation of said Digboi P.S. Case no.176/2016.

Pursuant to the order dated 13.12.2021, Mr. K. Goswami, learned Additional Senior Government Advocate, Assam has placed the communication dated 04.01.2022 received from the Inspector, Officer-in-Charge of Digboi Police Station, District-Tinsukia informing that police after investigating the said Digboi P.S. Case No.176/2016 has already submitted the Final Report on 18.11.2021 vide FR No.251/2021.

In view of the above and since the investigation of said Digboi P.S. Case No.176/2016 has already been completed, this writ petition being infructuous, stands closed.

The communication dated 04.01.2022 of the Officer-in-Charge of Digboi Police Station placed before the Court by Mr. K. Goswami, learned Additional Senior Government Advocate, Assam be kept as part of the record.
