This petition is filed on behalf of the Petitioner under Section 29A (4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (‘1996 Act’) seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Arbitral Tribunal.

Disputes having arisen between the parties in relation to Purchase Orders dated 22.01.2014 and 03.02.2014, 3-Member Arbitral Tribunal was constituted to adjudicate the disputes. On 21.09.2023, mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal was extended for six months with the consent of the parties. Thereafter, from time to time, this Court extended the mandate on joint petitions filed by the parties. In O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 646/2024, the Court extended the mandate for nine months w.e.f. 08.09.2024 vide order dated 27.08.2024, which has expired on 08.06.2025. It is stated in the petition that the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of final arguments, for which the Arbitral Tribunal has fixed the dates of 09.07.2025 and 11.07.2025.

Mr. Naveen Chawla, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the Respondent and on instructions, submits that Respondent has no objection to the extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal.

Accordingly, with the consent of the parties, mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended by a period of 07 months from 09.06.2025.

Petition is allowed and disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
