The present petition is filed seeking quashing of FIR No. 638/2023 dated 31.05.2023, registered at Police Station Burari, for offences under Sections 323/341/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (‘ IPC ’). The FIR was registered on a complaint given by Respondent No. 2.

Briefly stated, it is alleged that the petitioners along with 3-4 companions entered the shop of Respondent No.2 and started abusing him and a verbal altercation took place between them. Thereafter, the petitioners allegedly gave beatings to Respondent No.2 and further extended threats to him.

The present petition has been filed on the ground that the parties have amicably settled all their disputes by way of Settlement/Memo of Understanding dated 06.11.2025 out of their own free will, without any coercion, pressure, undue influence,

The petitioners and Respondent No.2 are present in person in Court. The parties have been duly identified by the Investigating Officer. 5. On being asked, the complainant states that all the disputes between the parties have been settled. He further states that he does not wish to pursue any proceedings arising out of the present FIR and has no objection if the same are quashed.

Offences under Sections 323/341/506 of the IPC are compoundable in nature. 7. This Court is of the opinion that no useful purpose would be served by relegating the parties to the learned Trial Court for filing an application to compound the offences. 8. Keeping in view the nature of dispute and that the parties have amicably entered into a settlement, this Court feels that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the dispute alive and continuance of the proceedings would amount to abuse of the process of Court.

In view of the above, FIR No. 638/2023 and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom are quashed. 10. The present petition is allowed in aforesaid terms. Pending application(s) also stand disposed of.
