The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia , praying as under:

“(a) issue a writ, order and/or direction in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ or order for directing the Respondents to expedite the hearing and disposal of the pending appeal ( Annexure P-3 ) bearing number: Del/CIT(A)-II/05-06/197/617 for block period 01.04.1995 to 18.03.2002 in a time bound manner.”

The petitioner is aggrieved as his appeal is pending before the Appellate Authority for the past sixteen years.
