On 12th December, 2017, this Court had awarded compensation of Rs. 8,00,000/- along with interest at the rate of 7% per annum from the date of filing of the claim petition i.e. 14th December, 2011 till its realization. On 23rd January, 2018, it was recorded that the amount had not been deposited in the Court. On the following date i.e. 2nd February, 2018 this Court had directed that the amount be deposited within two weeks, otherwise a cost of Rs. 25,000/- would be payable to the appellant. The amount has not been deposited. Accordingly, Rs. 25,000/- is payable to the appellant. The learned counsel for the Railways submits that the compensation amount awarded shall be deposited in this Court in the next two weeks. Let it be so done on or before the 9th March, 2018 along with the aforesaid cost. For this extension of time, a cost of Rs. 12,000/- shall be paid.
