The grievance of the petitioners is that the acquisition

proceedings are not initiated. The learned Counsel Mr. Chate for the Acquiring Body submits that in 2016, the proposal has been submitted to the Special Land Acquisition Officer under writ land.

It appears that the acquisition proceedings could not be initiated because the Acquiring Body did deposit the amount. The steps shall be taken by the Acquiring Body to remove the deficiency in the proposal within a period of four months and the land acquisition proceedings shall be initiated within a period of six months from today and shall be completed within the time stipulated under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.

3. The Writ Petitions are disposed of. No costs.
