The petitioner is before us espousing the interest of the general public concerning pilgrimage and the other services at Nashik, contending that by putting up concrete construction and not using the water purification plants, the Kundas which were used for several rites and other poojas, have been closed, affecting the sentiments of the persons who visit Nashik for offering poojas or for immersion of ashes. According to him, even at the time of proposed construction of a concrete wall, they made representations to the concerned authorities of the Corporation but no action was taken. We notice from the photographs that a concrete partition wall seems to have been put up

to arrest the complete flow of water so that there is water all the time available in Kundas so that the people can perform their poojas or rites at the Kundas itself without further proceeding towards the river so that the pollution may be arrested to a large extent. However, if any practical impediment is caused on account of this construction of the concrete wall, the public at Nashik must approach the concerned authorities with a detailed representation who can look into the same and decide the matter. So far as purification of water, if it is stopped, we are of the opinion, it is all the more a genuine grievance which the Corporation has to attend. In that view of the matter, we direct the petitioner to give a detailed representation to the Municipal Corporation, Nashik, expressing all the grievances. The same shall be disposed of by the respondent - Corporation within two months from its receipt.
