Mr.Milind More, learned AGP for the State Government has placed on record a statement dated 19 August 2014 signed by Mr.P.S.Indulkar, Deputy Secretary, Revenue & Forest Department of the Government of Maharashtra indicating that by 19 August 2014 the State Government has distributed compensation to the tune of Rs.2548 crores to 31,76,320 farmers in relation to damage caused to crops due to the natural calamity, which took place in March 2014.

It is further stated that amounts have been disbursed to farmers by way of depositing the amounts in their respective bank accounts.

The statement is taken on record and marked “X” for identification.

¶31

In view of the above, it appears that the State Government has taken substantial steps by way of remedial measures to compensate the farmers for loss of crops on account of recent natural calamity. We , therefore, close this proceedings with a clarification that in case any individual farmer or body of farmers has any grievance, it will be open to him/them to take out separate proceeding before the appropriate Forum.
