Heard learned counsel for the parties.

The petition has been filed by the heirs of the petitioner seeking a direction to the respondent - authorities to decide the applications filed by them for grant of benefit u/s 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act within a stipulated period.

Learned AGP has placed on record a communication dated 20.3.2012 stating therein that the applications will be decided within a period of three months.

The petition is, therefore, disposed of with a direction to the respondents to decide the applications made by the petitioners, in any case within a period of three months from today. It is further directed that in the event the petitioners are found eligible for grant of the benefit u/s 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act, the amount so determined shall be paid to the petitioners within a period of six months from the date of determination.
