This is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. The petitioner who is resident of Rajapur Town has prayed for directions against Respondent No.3 Rajapur Municial Council and the Chief officer of the Rajapur Municipal Council to the effect that respondent No.3 be restrained from granting any permission for holding any function in the riverbed of river Kharli. Further direction is sought that respondent No.3 be restrained from dumping garbage into the riverbed.
2 Having regard to the subject matter, it appears to be a fit case where the petitioner can send his representation to the Collector, Ratnagiri who will look into the same and take appropriate decision in the matter after giving opportunity of hearing to the petitioner,
