This Contempt Case is filed under Sections 10 to 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 for willful, wanton and deliberate disobedience in implementation of the order passed by this Court on 24.07.2023 in W.P.No.16562 of 2023.

This Court, in W.P.No.16562 of 2023 passed the following order on 24.07.2023:

“…In view of the above instructions submitted by the learned Government Pleader for Roads & Buildings, since the bill amount claimed by the petitioner is an admitted bill, this Court feels it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition directing the respondents to release amount of Rs.5,59,28,541/- to the petitioner within a period of three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order….”

3. Heard learned counsel on either side.

Today when the writ petition came up for hearing, learned counsel for the contemnors furnished a copy of the letter addressed by the 3^rd respondent dated 16.07.2026 bearing No.CC.No.6136 of 2023 in W.P.No.16562 of 2023/A7/2023 wherein it is stated that an amount of Rs.5,70,28,497/- payable to the petitioner was paid on 14.10.2024 vide RBI.No.2892248049189. The said fact was also admitted by learned counsel for the petitioner.
