The present Writ Petition came to be filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following relief:-

"...to issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ order or direction declaring the action of respondents 2 and 3 in not considering the application submitted by the petitioner for appointment as Anganwadi Worker at Devanagar (Palukuru) of Banaganapalli Mandat, Kurnool District as illegal and arbitrary and consequently direct the respondents 2 and 3 to call the petitioner for interview for appointment for the post of Anganwadi Worker at Devanagar (Palukuru) of Banaganapalli Mandal, Kurnool District....”

The case of the petitioner is that, pursuant to the notification dated 04.08.2015 issued by the 3'"^ respondent inviting applications for the post of Anganwadi Worker and Anganwadi Helper at different places within the ICDS Project, Banaganapalli, the petitioner applied on 14.08.2015 for the post of Anganwadi Worker at Devanagar (Palukuru Village) Anganwadi^Centre.

The grievance of the petitioner in the present writ petition is that, in spite of being eligible for the post of Anganwadi Worker and having submitted an application as per notification dated 04.08.2015, the respondents have failed to call the petitioner for an interview. Challenging which, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

Today, when the matter came up for hearing, learned Government Pleader for Women Development & Child Welfare produced a copy of N* instructions of the Child Development Project Officer, ICDS Project, Banaganapa\V, Nandyal District, wherein it is stated that the petitioner has submitted her application on 12.08.2015 personally. After a preliminary check of the said application as to whether it is as per the norms prescribed in the

notification or not, the 3'^^ respondent returned the petitioner’s application immediately on same day i.e.i on 12.08.2015 stating that the petitioner does not belong to Devanagar Village and she comes under non-local category. It is further stated that, the Committee has selected one M.Lakshmi Devi, W/o P.Chinthamuni, R/o Devanagar Village for the post of Anganwadi Worker at Devanagar Anganwadi Centre i in accordance with the notification dated 04.08.2015 and she has joined duties on 23.11.2015, and she is being continued till date. 5. In view of the fact that the application of the petitioner was considered and returned on the same date i.e. on 12.08.2015 on the ground that she ISi a non-local candidate and another candidate by name Smt.M. Lakshmi Devi was selected for the post of Anganwadi Worker at Devanagar Anganwadi Centre in pursuance of the notification dated 04.08.2015 and continuing till date nothing survives in this writ petition for further adjudication. 6- Accordingly, the Writ Petition i IS closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
