Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying that in the circumstances stated in the affidavit filed therewith, the High Court may be pleased to issue any appropriate Writ, order or direction, preferably a Writ in the nature of Mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in issuing the norm, namely limiting the intake to 20% Lateral Entry leaving^{thevacantseatsavailable} in the second year of engineering in contravention to the norms published in Hand Book 2016-17 at page no. 51 to 53, thereby adopting new system for intake under lateral entry without any circular or notice to the petitioners illegally, arbitrarily, in violation of Article 14 of the Constitution of India and in violation of principles of natural justice consequently set aside the same and direct the respondent to allocate the seats to the engineering admission under lateral entry as per the choice of the students by continuing the allotment system adopted till the year 2015 by following rules of AlCTE.

The present Writ Petition came to be filed

under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following relief

“....to issue any appropriate Writ, order or direction, preferably a Writ in the nature of Mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in issuing the norm, namely limiting the intake to 20% Lateral Entry leaving the vacant seats available in the second year of engineering in contravention to the norms published in Hand Book 2016-17 at page no. 51 to 53, thereby adopting new system for intake under lateral entry without any circular or notice to the petitioners illegally arbitrarily in violation of Article 14 of the Constitution of India and in violation of principles of natural justice consequently set aside the same and direct the respondent to allocate the seats to the engineering admission under lateral entry as per the choice of the students by continuing the allotment system adopted till the year 2015 by following rules of AICTE and to pass....”

Today when the matter came up for hearing, Mr.Gopala Rao Amancharla, learned counsel for the petitioner has stated that as the matter pertains to^the engineering admission for academic year 2016-17, the cause in the writ petition does not survive for further adjudication and the matter has become infructuous.

Considering the above submission, the Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. There shall be no
