Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying that in the circumstances stated in the affidavit filed therewith, the High Court may be pleased to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of "Writ of Mandamus" declaring the action of the Respondents No.2 and 3 in not placing/notifying unfilled seats of 1®‘ year B.Tech EEE, MECH, ECE and CSE while notifying only 20% supernumerary seats for the purpose of making admissions for Lateral Entry into 2 nd Year of the respective B.Tech Courses of the petitioner institution with the eligible candidates through the ECET-2016 counseling conducting by the 3'^'* respondent for the academic year 2016-17 pursuant to the ECET-2016 Admission Notification dt.08-06-2016 as illegal, arbitrary and violative of Articles 14 and 19(1)(g) of the Constitution of India apart from being violative of principles of natural justice and consequently direct the respondents to allow the petitioner institution to admit students into2"*^ year of B.Tech courses under Lateral Entry for the academic year 2016-17 for
the unfilled seats of 1®‘ year in addition to 20% supernumeraryseatsbynotifying the vacant seats of 1®* year B.Tech Courses for web-counselingand ratify the said admissions.

ORDER:
The present Writ Petition came to be filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking
the following relief:-
“....to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of “Writ of Mandamus” declaring the action of the Respondents No. 2 and 3 in not placing/notifying unfilled seats of year B.Tech BEE, MECH., ECE and CSE while notifying only 20% supernumerary seats for the purpose of making admissions for Lateral Entry into 2^ Year of the respective B.Tech Courses of the petitioner institution with the eligible candidates through the ECET-2016 counseling conducting by the 3'^ respondent for the academic year 2016-17 pursuant to the ECET2016 Admission Notification dated 08.06.2016, as illegal, arbitrary and violative of Articles 14 and 19(l)(g) of the Constitution of India apart from being violative of principles of natural justice and consequently direct the respondents to allow the petitioner institution to admit students into 2'^ year of B.Tech courses under Lateral Entry for the academic year 2016-17 for the unfilled seats of 1 St year in addition to 20% supernumerary seats by notifying the vacant seats of J*' year B.Tech Courses for web-counseling and ratify the said admissions and to pass....”

- Today when the matter came up for hearing,
Mr.Gopala Rao Amancharla, learned counsel for the petitioner has stated that as the matter pertains tothe engineering admission for academic year 2016-17, the

cause in the writ petition does not survive for further adjudication and the matter has become infructuous.
