This writ petition is filed seeking to declare the action of the respondents 2 to 5 in not considering the submission for release of the sanctioned amount of Rs.10 lakhs for financial assistance of petitioner’s son Chittineni Prudhvi Teja under the scheme of “YSR VIDESHI VIDYADHARANA” APPLICATION ID No.OV2018120877, dated 20.02.2019, which is illegal and arbitrary.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 5.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the son of the petitioner by name Chittineni Prudhvi Teja was selected under the scheme of “YSR VIDESHI VIDYADHARANA” APPLICATION ID No.OV2018120877, dated 20.02.2019, for studying Master of Science at

Nottingham Trent University, UK State. He further submitted that after completion of all formalities, the petitioner’s son was went to UK and completed his Master of Science at Nottingham Trent University in June 2020; in the meantime, the petitioner, so many times, requested the respondents to release the sanctioned amount of Rs.10,00,000/-, but despite lapse of more than 2 years, no amount was released, hence the petitioner was undergoing tremendous hardship to pay the necessary fees and living expenses to his son in UK. Hence, the Writ Petition.

Learned Government Pleader, on instructions, submitted that the proposals are already submitted to the Government, which are under process for release of grant, hence, requested further time.

Considering the submissions of both the counsel and on perusal of the material on record, the writ petition is disposed of, directing Respondent Nos.2 to 5 to release the sanctioned funds under the scheme of “YSR VIDESHI

VIDYADHARANA” within a period of six (06) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
