Mr. Suresh Kumar Gupta, learned advocate appears on behalf of petitioner. He had moved the writ petition on 2nd April, 2026 to submit, his client applied for electric connection on 15th June, 2024. It had not yet been given. Hence, his client had come to Court.

We had made subsequent order dated 23rd April, 2026. Paragraph-4 from said order is reproduced below.

"4. It appears the police, instead of enforcing law and order have run to Court to show that they are discharging their duties by prosecuting criminal cases. Their primary duty is to uphold law and order. Electricity being an essential service, on application duly made the connection is to be given. Any resistance, unless authorized by law, is a law and order problem. We expect the police to do better."
