Heard Ms. Charu Singh holding brief of Sri Trideep Narayan Pandey for the petitioner and the Standing counsel for the respondents.

It has been submitted that the petitioner has completed his studies upto senior secondary level and now he is earning his livelihood by serving as personal security guard/bouncer. It is in aforesaid circumstances and need of his job that he has applied for arm's license before the licensing authority i.e. District Magistrate, Lucknow on 13.10.2022. The application preferred by the petitioner was registered as Application No.511. It has submitted that the said application was complete in all respect and even subsequently the police report as well as report from the Chief Medical Officer has been obtained but even after expiry of more than one and half years, the application is pending and has not been considered and disposed of by the respondent. Accordingly, a prayer has been made for a suitable direction to respondent No.2 to consider and decide the application of the petitioner for grant of arm's license, expeditiously.

Learned Standing counsel does not object to the prayer made by the petitioner.

Accordingly, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 i.e. District Magistrate, Lucknow to consider and decide the application of the petitioner bearing No.511 which was filed on 13.10.2022, expeditiously, say within a period of six weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is produced before him in accordance with law and communicate his decision to the petitioner.
