Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, learned Standing Counsel appearing for Respondents No. 1 to 3 and Sri Sanjeev Kumar Singh, learned counsel appearing for Respondent No. 4.

Petitioner has filed this writ petition inter-alia praying therein for the following reliefs:-

"i. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing the respondent no. 2 to 4 to issue connection of Gas, under the Prime Minister Ujjawala Scheme.

ii. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing the respondent no. 2 & 3 to decide the representation of the petitioner dated 17.04.2023 & 20.06.2019 within stipulated period as may be directed by this Hon'ble Court. "

From perusal of the contents of the writ petition, it clearly appears that the petitioner is claiming for L.P.G. connection under the 'Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana'.

Learned Standing Counsel, on the basis of instructions, has submitted before this Court that the L.P.G. connection has been issued in the name of Mr. Hari Singh by the Respondent No. 4. It is very surprising for this Court that once there is a provision under the 'Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana' that L.P.G. connection can be released only in the name of a female candidate then how could the L.P.G. connection have been issued in the name of a male candidate. Learned counsel appearing for the Respondent No. 4 is not in a position to explain this fact. It appears that there is complete confusion in the matter.

List this matter on 9.7.2024, as fresh.

If by the next date fixed, petitioner is not provided L.P.G.

connection under the 'Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana' alongwith gas booking booklet and other relevant papers then, in order to explain the matter, the District Magistrate, Jalaun shall appear in person before this Court.
