Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing counsel for the State.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner was appointed on the post of Home Guard. After issuance of show cause notice dated 06.10.2022, services of the petitioner has been terminated vide order dated 17.11.2022 without considering the reply submitted by the petitioner.

Against the said termination order dated 17.11.2022 petitioner has filed an appeal on 22.09.2023 before the respondent no. 2- Deputy Commandant General, Home Guards Headquarter, Lucknow, which is still pending and no decision has been taken.

After arguing at some length, learned counsel for the petitioner has confined his prayer to the extent that a direction may be issued to the respondent no. 2 to take a decision on the appeal of the petitioner expeditiously.

Learned Standing Counsel has no objection to the prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner.

On the request of learned counsel for the petitioner and without entering into the merit of the case, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent no. 2 to consider and decide the appeal of the petitioner in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order
