Heard learned counsel for the parties.

Petitioner's husband, who was working on Group-D post with the respondent- department, died in harness on 16.12.2022 and is survived by widow namely petitioner and three female children, all unmarried.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that on the death of her husband petitioner applied for compassionate appointment by moving appropriate application in this regard on 09.01.2023, but the same has remained pending consideration by the competent authority namely Zila Krishi Adhkari, Jhansi.

Learned Standing Counsel does not have any objection to the pending application being directed to be disposed of by the competent authority in accordance with law.

In view of the above, this petition stands disposed of with the direction to the respondent No.4 to look into and consider the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment made by her vide application dated 09.01.2023 in respect of which she has also made a representation dated 20.09.2023 before respondent No.2, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two months from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order. It is further provided that if the petitioner is found to be eligible and entitled for compassionate appointment, the same shall be offered to her within next thirty days' time.

Needless to add that the order to be passed by the authority shall be reasoned and speaking one.
