By means of present writ petition the petitioners seek for quashing of the first information report No. 0476 of 2018 dated 24.12.2018 under Sections 498A, 323, 506 I.P.C. and 3/4 Dowry Prohibition Act, Police Station Sarai Akil District Kaushambi.

The matter had been referred to the Allahabad High Court Mediation and Conciliation Centre by means of the order dated 17.01.2019 passed by this Court. The mediation report dated 28.05.2019 is on the record. A perusal thereof indicates that the amicable settlement has been arrived between the parties. The interim settlement dated 14.05.2019 and also the final settlement dated 28.05.2019 are on record.

Having perused the mediation report and the terms of the settlement, we find that the dispute being matrimonial in nature has been brought to its logical conclusion. The disputes and differences between the parties have been amicably settled through the process of mediation/conciliation. We, therefore, find that no cause of action survives for proceeding with the investigation in F.I.R. No. 0476 of 2018. The first information report No. 0476 of 2018 dated 24.12.2018 detailed above is hereby quashed.

The writ petition is thus, disposed of in terms of the mediation settlement dated 28.05.2019.
