Heard learned counsel for the petitioners, learned Standing Counsel for the State respondents and Sri Pratik Chandra, learned counsel appearing on behalf of respondent nos. 2, 3 and 4.
This writ petition has been filed for issuance of mandamus commanding the respondents to increase the seats for the subject of B.Sc. in the institution for the academic session 2019-20.
The contention of learned counsel for the petitioner is that for the said purpose, the petitioner filed a representation dated 06.09.2019, appended as annexure-3 to the writ petition, but his representation has not yet been decided.
On the other hand, learned counsel for the respondentUniversity submits that processing fees for increase of seats amounting to Rs. 15,000/- has not been paid by the petitioner's institution and unless and until, the said fees is deposited, the application of the petitioner for increase of seats cannot be processed.
Under these circumstances, direction is issued to the petitioner to make necessary deposit of processing fees amounting to Rs. 15,000/- within two weeks, and thereafter, the respondentUniversity is directed to process the petitioner's application, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two months from the date of deposit of processing fees.
Writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of.
