Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record.

This writ petition has been filed, inter alia, for the following relief:

"i. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus to restrain the plaintiffs/contesting respondents as well as other respondents to not interfere in the peaceful possession of the petitioner pursuant to the order dated 22.10.2018 which has been passed by the Additional City Magistrate (First) District Varanasi."

After arguing the matter for quite sometime, learned counsel for the petitioner has confined his prayer to the extent that a direction be issued to the concerned Court/Authority for deciding the stay application of the petitioner pending in Appeal No. 02560 of 2018 before the Additional Commissioner, Administration, Division Varanasi, District Varanasi within a stipulated period of time.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and without expressing any opinion on the

merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the concerned Court/Authority to decide the aforesaid stay application expeditiously, if possible, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after giving an opportunity of hearing to the parties in accordance with law.
