This writ petition has been filed, inter alia , for the following relief:
"(I ) Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of certiorari for quashing the impugned notice dated 5.10.2019 issued by respondent no. 4 (Annexure no. 6 to the writ petition) with all its consequential effects."
Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Arvind Kumar Goswami, learned counsel for the respondents and perused the record.
From perusal of the record, it transpires that by means of a letter dated 20.3.2020, a copy whereof has been annexed as annexure no. 2 to the writ petition, certain clarifications with regard to adverse police report dated 19.1.2019 were sought from the petitioner and the petitioner appears to have not given any response to the said letter and therefore the pass
port department could not proceed further in the matter.
In view of the above, we do not see any justification to interfere in the matter.
However, it is open to the petitioner to give reply to the aforementioned letter dated 20.3.2020 with regard to the adverse police report dated 19.1.2019 and as soon as any reply is filed by the petitioner, the authority concerned shall proceed with the matter by passing appropriate order in accordance with law.
With the above observations, the writ petition stands disposed of.
