Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing counsel for the State-respondents.

The petition has been filed seeking the following relief-

"i) issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the Consolidation Officer, Sadar-I, District Muzaffar Nagar (respondent no.2) to decide Case No.589 of 2012 (Jabar Singh and others Vs. Pramod Pundir and others) under Section 9A(2) of the Uttar Pradesh Consolidation of Holdings Act, 1953 pending before him expeditiously within a short stipulated period fixed by this Hon'ble Court and till the decision of the aforesaid case the respondents may be directed to maintain status quo over 1/4 share of Khata Nos.85, 86, 90, 26, 8, 38 and 39 and entre share of plot no.64M total ara 13-11-2 situated in village Pilakhni, Pargana Charthwala, Tehsil Sadar, District Muzaffarnagar ."

It is stated that an objection under Section 9A(2) of the UP Consolidation of Holdings Act filed in the year 2012 has not been decided finally till date.

Under the circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of directing the Consolidation Officer, Sadar-I, District Muzaffar Nagar (respondent no.2) to endeavour to decide the case of the petitioner, expeditiously, preferably within a period of four months from the date copy of this order is filed before him.
