1. This petition has been filed by the petitioners Smt. Sheetal and Ankit Kumar, praying for protection to be given to them as they have married against their parents' wishes.

2. On an earlier occasion, this Court had directed the Standing Counsel to seek instructions in the matter.

3. On 28.11.2019, the Standing Counsel, on the basis of the instructions, had submitted that the petitioner no.1 Smt. Sheetal had lodged an F.I.R. under Section 376 I.P.C. against one Ankush, who is the elder brother of Ankit Kumar. The petitioner no.1 had also given her statement under Section 164 Cr.P.C. before the C.J.M. concerned with regard to the offence of rape committed by the elder brother Ankush on her. Later on the police on investigation has submitted the Final Report in the Court of A.C.J.M. VII under Section 173 Cr.P.C. praying to close the matter and to accept the Final Report.

4. The fact that the petitioner no.1 does not want to press the charges against her brother in law and the final report in this regard has already been submitted by the police in Case Crime No.256 of 2019, has no bearing with the case.

5 . The petitioners' prayer is for grant for protection. They may approach the S.H.O., Police Station Hastinapur, District Meerut. In case the marriage of the petitioner no.1 with petitioner no.2 is already been registered, the S.H.O. concerned shall extend all necessary help and protection to the petitioners in terms of the Government Order dated 31.08.2019

6. The writ petition is disposed of.
