The case of the petitioners are that their land were acquired for the purpose of construction of a dam and they are entitled to compensation in terms of a Government Order dated 25 October 2014, which has been annexed as Annexure-3 to the writ petition.
It is appropriate that the matter be examined by the District Magistrate, Sonbhadra.
We, therefore, direct that the petitioners may move an application before the District Magistrate, Sonbhadra with a certified copy of this order within a period of two weeks and in case such an application is filed, the District Magistrate, after making such enquiries, shall pass a reasoned and speaking order within a period of two months thereafter.
The writ petition is disposed of with the aforesaid observations.
It is made clear that the Court has not adjudicated on the merits of the claim of the petitioners and it will be for the District Magistrate to take a decision in accordance with law.
