Sri K.R. Singh, the learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel appears on instructions and states that amounts towards GPF, Gratuity and Leave Encashment have been disbursed to the applicant. He further submits that provisional pension has also been approved. The two issues which now remain are with respect of the payment of Group Insurance and final pension. According to Sri Singh, the matter with respect to Group Insurance has been referred to the Police Headquarters and a decision in respect thereof shall be duly taken and finalised within a period of one month from today.
Insofar as the payment of final pension is concerned, Sri Singh states that the applicant has been paid provisional pension since it was revealed that he was involved in a criminal case which is still pending. He states that information in respect of this particular case has also been sought from the relevant authorities and that a decision shall be taken thereon with expedition.
In view of the statements recorded hreinabove, no further cause exists for continuance of these proceedings in contempt which shall stand disposed
of.
This Court further leaves it open to the applicant to present such further material as may be in his possession before the competent authority to establish if it be the case of the applicant that the criminal case has attained closure.
