Heard learned counsel for the parties through video conferencing.

By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought following relief:

“i. issue a writ, order or direction in nature of mandamus directing the respondents for granting entire facilities to the petitioner society of allotment of land etc (i.e. the same facilities as being provided to the male sadhus/Akharas) at Melasthal including Shahi Snan during the forthcoming 2021 Kumbh Mela, Haridwar.”

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner has made a representation on 25.11.2019 to In-Charge Mela Adhikari, Kumbh Mela 2021, Haridwar, which is on record as Annexure No. 8 to the writ petition.

Learned counsel for the petitioner confines his prayer and submits that the writ petition may be disposed of by directing the Mela Adhikari to take decision on petitioner’s representation at the earliest. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to Mela Adhikari, Kumbh Mela 2021, Haridwar to take decision on petitioner’s representation dated 25.11.2019, in accordance with law, expeditiously, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order alongwith copy of representation.

While taking decision, Mela Adhikari, Kumbh Mela 2021, Haridwar shall hear all stakeholders.
