This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of C-onstirution of India seeking the following reliefls:-

an agreement of sale entered into with respondent No. 5, a suit for specific performance has been irstituted and is presently pending. It is alleged that, during the pendency of these proceedings, the

unofficial respondens, by exerting influence over the police, are

interfering with the petitioner's life and liberry. O r this basis, the petitioner seelcs directions restraining the police uthorities from intcr{ering in what is essentially a civil dispute, co: -ending that the allegatioru agairut him are unfounded.

Flaving regard to the submissions advanced , n behalf of the petitioner, and considering that the dispute a:;es our of an agreement of sale in respect of immovabie propr,: qr it o evident that the issues involved are predominantly civil i: narure. In this context, it is deemed appropriate to direct the rrs tondent/police authorities to refrain from interfenng with the per i ioner's right to life and liberry and not to compel or insist upon ;r I'settlement of the dispute. It is, however, clarified that this shall r rt preclude the police from takurg any action strictly rn accor,l urce u,{th law, should such necessiry arise.
