The petitioner whose father hails from Visakhapatnam, but who had to serve all over the country on account of being employed in the Indian Army, has come up with the above writ petition seeking a mandamus to grant for local status in the State of Andhra Pradesh.

Heard Mr. Challa Ajay Kumar, learned counsel for the

petitioner. Mr. Taddi Nageswara Rao, learned counsel, takes notice for the University.

The petitioner’s father hails from Visakhapatnam.

¶8

The petitioner was born on 18-12-1996 at Visakhapatnam.

¶9

She studied from LKG to 10^th standard at Hyderabad.

¶10

She claims to have done Intermediate in Visakhapatnam.

¶11

Therefore, the petitioner’s case falls within the

parameters of G.O.Ms.No.132, dated 13-6-2016 and the Circular Memo issued by the State of Andhra Pradesh dated 08-8-2016. Hence, following the orders passed in similar

matters, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to treat the petitioner as a local candidate, in view of her nativity in the State of Andhra Pradesh. The petitioner shall apply in terms of para 4(d) of the Circular Memo dated 08-8-2016, after which she may be granted the benefit of a candidate with local status. The miscellaneous

petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed. No costs.
