The petitioner, who had filed a revision petition under Section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh Rights in Lands and Pattadar Pass Books Act, 1971 before the second respondent in 2013, has approached this Court alleging

inaction on the part of the second respondent in taking up the said revision or at least interlocutory application filed therein. It appears that a notice for hearing was issued on 6.7.2013 fixing the date of hearing of the revision, on 17.8.2013 and according to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the matter was not taken up on that day or even thereafter and he has also filed an interlocutory application on 4.7.2014, but no orders have been passed on the said application also. Aggrieved by the inaction of the second respondent, the present writ petition is filed.

Learned Government Pleader for Revenue, on instructions, submits that the petitioner’s revision was fixed for hearing on 19.7.2014 and because of the local body elections, the revision could not be taken up for hearing and a fresh date for hearing would be fixed and informed to the parties in due course.

In the circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of directing the second respondent to fix an early hearing of the matter, hear the parties and pass appropriate orders at least on the interlocutory application by the next date of hearing of revision.

Miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed. No costs.
