ORDER:
The petitioner was issued Passport bearing No.A6750772, dated 30.11.1998, which was renewed on 13.06.2008 and valid till 12.06.2018. The petitioner noticed that in the Passport, his date of birth was recorded as 10.05.1973, whereas the actual date of birth is 10.03.1978. The petitioner applied for change of date of birth entered in the passport on 06.03.2014. This writ petition is instituted alleging that no orders are passed on the application submitted by the petitioner.
2. Having regard to the submissions made, without expressing any opinion on the
merits, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the Passport Officer, Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad (second respondent) to consider the application submitted by the petitioner on 06.03.2014 regarding the correction of date of birth entered in the passport and pass appropriate orders as warranted by law. If the second respondent is not agreeing for correction of date of birth as requested by the petitioner, the reasons may be assigned and communicated to the petitioner within a period of three (3) weeks. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition, shall stand closed.
