The case of the petitioner is that the General Power of Attorney was executed in favour of the petitioner by the owner of the property and the same was presented before the SubRegistrar, SRO, Kallur, Kurnool District (3^rd respondent). He assigned document number as P.No.91/2013 and by order, dated 01.07.2013, he passed an order of refusal to register the document holding that the same is a Wakf property. Aggrieved thereby, the petitioner filed appeal before the District Registrar of Assurances, Kurnool District, Kurnool (2^nd respondent) on 01.08.2013, but so far, the appeal is not disposed of.

2. If the contention of the petitioner is true that the appeal filed on 01.08.2013 is not disposed of, the same is not appreciated. Once an appeal is filed, it is the responsibility of the statutory authority to consider the appeal as warranted by law within a reasonable time.

Having regard to the submissions made, without expressing any opinion on merits, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the District Registrar of Assurances, Kurnool District, Kurnool (2^nd respondent) to pass orders on the appeal filed by the petitioner, dated 01.08.2013, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date

of receipt of copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition, shall stand closed.
