ORDER: (per the Hon’ble Sri Justice Sanjay Kumar)
The grievance in this Public Interest Litigation is with regard to the inaction on the part of the State of Andhra Pradesh in granting sanction for prosecution of corrupt officials by the Anti Corruption Bureau. Consequential direction is sought to the State and Bureau to disclose information about the corrupt officials against whom the Bureau has sought sanction, so that the general public would come forward to give evidence.
The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the issue raised in the Public Interest Litigation is squarely covered by the decision in MANZOOR ALI KHAN v. UNION OF INDIA AND OTHER S[1] .
In the light of the ratio laid down by the Supreme Court in the aforestated judgment, the issue in this Public
Interest Litigation does not survive for independent consideration.
The Public Interest Litigation is closed in terms of the said ratio.
Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. No costs.
