This Writ Petition is filed with a two-fold grievance, namely, that the petitioners’ applications made as far back as 30-4-2008 for regularisation of the plots in their occupation in terms of G.O.Ms.No.166, Revenue (ASSN.POT) Department, dated 16-2-2008, are not being disposed of; and that pending those applications, respondent No.5 is seeking to interfere with their possession.

The learned Assistant Government Pleader for Revenue (Assignments), on instructions, submitted that the petitioners’ applications are pending and the same will be disposed of within a reasonable time. As regards the allegation that respondent No.5 has been interfering with the petitioners’ possession of the plots in question, the learned Assistant Government Pleader stated on the instructions of respondent No.3, that respondent No.5 has started conducting survey of the lands for the purpose of processing the petitioners’ applications for regularisation and that there is no attempt to dispossess the petitioners

from the plots in their occupation by the Revenue functionaries, including respondent No.5.

In the light of the above submissions of the learned Assistant Government Pleader, the Writ Petition is disposed of with the direction to the respondents to complete the process of regularisation and communicate the decision to the petitioners within a period of three months from the date of receipt of this order. Pending disposal of the petitioners’ applications for regularisation, their possession over the plots shall not be disturbed.

As a sequel to the disposal of the Writ Petition, WPMP No.41876/2013 filed for interim relief is disposed of as infructuous.
