At the hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner is not present.

It is a matter of deep concern that a vintage claim made as far back as the year 1975 for grant of ryotwari patta under the A.P.Estate (Abolition and Conversion into Ryotwari) Act, 1948 is kept pending without disposal by the office of respondent No.1.

At the hearing, the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Revenue (AA) confirmed the fact that the application is still pending.

It is does not augur well for any society to keep claims of this nature pending for generations. The learned Assistant Government Pleader submitted that the enquiry was held on 16.11.2013 and that the same was adjourned to 23.11.2013. He further submitted that due to advocates’ strike, the counsel for the petitioner is not appearing before respondent No.1. As the application is pending for nearly four decades, it is no longer desirable to keep the enquiry pending whatever may be reason. Respondent No.1 is directed to issue final notice to the petitioner informing him that whether his counsel appears or not, he will proceed with the enquiry and pass a final order. After such notice, respondent No.1 shall conduct and conclude the

enquiry and pass a final order, within a period of two months from the date of

receipt of a copy of this order.

Subject to the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. As a sequel to disposal of the writ petition, W.P.M.P.No.36586 of

2013 shall stand disposed of as infructuous.
