The petitioner-society, whose members are displaced fishermen due to construction of Gangavaram Port, filed this Writ Petition with the grievance that its request for allotment of house sites to its members in Survey No.8 of Duvvada Village and Mandal, Visakhapatnam District, is not being considered.

At the hearing, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Revenue (Assignments), on instructions, submitted that the members of the petitioner-society being residents of Pendagantyada Mandal cannot be granted house site pattas in Duvvada Mandal. She further stated that respondent Nos.2 and 3 will consider the representation of the members of the petitioner-

society for allotment of house sites in Pendagantyada Mandal.

Inasmuch as the members of the petitioner-society are displaced fishermen under the port project, their request for allotment of house sites appears to be justifiable. Therefore, respondent Nos.2 and 3 are directed to identify suitable land in Pendagantyada Mandal for allotment of house sites to the members of the petitioner-society. If no suitable land is available in Pendagantyada Mandal, respondent Nos.2 and 3 shall consider allotment of house sites in any other neighbouring Mandals including in Gajuwaka Mandal. He shall complete this process and communicate the decision to the petitioner-society within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Subject to the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of.

As a sequel to disposal of the Writ Petition, W.P.M.P.No.36259 of 2013 is disposed of as infructuous.
