It is the pleaded case of the petitioners that the family members of the petitioners have purchased several pieces of land in Survey No.533/1 under registered sale deeds, dated 04-10-1958 and 27-06-1967; that in December 2007, they came to know that the Government has initiated the proceedings to acquire a part of the land in the said Survey Number for formation of a road; that through representation, dated 27-12-2007, petitioner Nos. 1 to 4 brought to the notice of respondent No.3 about their subsisting right, title and possession of the properties in Survey No.533/1; and that respondent No.3 has not taken any action thereon. The petitioners further pleaded that as they heard rumours that an Award was passed by respondent No.3, they have obtained a copy of the Award bearing No.5 of 2009-2010, dated 29-09-2009, from the office of respondent No.3 and that on a perusal of the said Award, they were shocked to know that the land admeasuring 0-70 ½ cents was acquired and a sum of Rs.18,33,494/- was awarded towards compensation to one Mr. Guruswamy Naidu. The petitioners there upon made a representation to respondent No.3 by way of a petition on 17-03-2010 with a request to him to refer the dispute relating to the persons who are entitled to receive and the adequacy of compensation amount under Sections 18 and 30 of the Act. As the said request has not been acceded to by respondent No.3, the petitioner filed this Writ Petition.
